I tried posting a WTB in the classifieds with no luck, so I thought maybe someone in this section might have one lying around and would part with it...? I find it hard to believe that here at my local JY there isn't any lying around but I have been checking there for months with no luck!!

SETOF4 Ford Truck Van 8LUG 16" Chrome Wheel Center Hub Caps Nut Covers Alloy Rim | eBay
Of lesser quality than the OEM ones are are know to fly off pulling out of your driveway. And they snap into the recesses in the wheel, not the lug nuts like the newer style

Ancient thread, I know, but I stumbled across it while looking for something else.
Just to report back, I've had the ebay caps on my truck now for months with no issue. Yes, they're meant to grab around the outside of the lugnuts. So, to ensure it'd be a tight fit, I turned each lugnut so that a corner of the hex was as far from the center of the wheel (radially) as possible. Yes, that means my torque specs aren't exact, but it shouldn't be off by a huge factor. I've had no issues with the caps coming loose (or coming off), so I'm pretty happy.
That being said, if I ever have to take the truck anywhere for work that requires removing a wheel, I'll probably take the caps off myself so they don't fall off on the way home.

I have a few sets of the original ford hub caps. The chrome is a little bit bad on a few of them, but the trick is get lug nuts that do not interfere with the center cap install, so that means like a 13/16 I believe socket size lug nut, then bend the wires slightly to grab the wheel. I have never lost one, but I don't beat my 96 truck, so that could be part of it too. Agreed on a poor design, but the look is unmatched for me. I feel like a 97>95 with factory alcoas and all the hub caps is the finest look these trucks ever had.
