High Angle Driveline style driveline brake

Looking into a driveline E brake for this spring for getting rig back into action after waiting on a new 1 ton tranny upgrade.
Id like to make it fully road legal with an ebrake as I have rear discs with no e brake and caddy calipers are suppose to be junk.
Ive looked into the HAD driveline brake before but they list you need there "patented" cv flange. I call bull and I'm going to fabricate my own rotor. here is their kit

High Angle Drivline-Call Jesse at 530-877-2875 - My Buildup

I'm thinking of ordering a TSM ,Mb-3 or Mb-4 caliper then make my own stainless 1/4"- 5/16" thick rotor ,9" round with holes to match my cv flange pattern. I would get a local shop to plasma or water jet cut circle.

heres link to caliper

Looks easy. I'll fab a bracket and run my stock e brake cable modified to work.
anyone done this before??

link to a homemade setup..

the only problem i have with a driveline E-brake is if you break an axle or u-joint you loose the e-brake.

new idea on rotor. I would punch hole pattern for flange first, bolt flange on, chuck up flange and lathe/cut rotor to 9" diameter size. Then its perfect..

my main park brake is my swagelok mechanical valve. Will hold any hill. I figure it bleeds off after about 7 days. Works awesome, just not as emergency situation brake. chances of losing a joint at moment emergency brake is needed forloss of brakes is slim to none.

but it CAN happen.
it scared me enough on my 65 W300 when i dropped a driveshaft and tore a rear brake line that i put drum E-brakes on it as soon as it got home.

I ve never came across a time that a "emergency brake" would do any good at stopping a vehicle.

In my autos, a parking pin will hold just fine. Never broke one.

In a manual, the lowest gear with engine off holds nice too...

i have used the E-brake to get home many times. i blew a brake line in the 88 in 92-93 and drove 175 miles from upstate new york with only the E-brake to get it home.
i also drove a 66 chevelle home 120 miles from pennsylvania using only the E- brake back in 77 after blowing a brake line in that.
same with the 02. when it tossed a brake pad and spit out the piston on a rear caliper 4 days after i bought it i drove it home about 25 miles on the E-brake.

Only one time have I popped a brake line, and to get home, I pounded the steel line flat, folded it over, pounded it flat again, and topped off the master than drove for a year or so Dan style, front brakes only.

im going to put it through a voluntary vehichle inspection at a designated garage.I want to have no issues driving around getting harrassed by cops. I'll need fender flares and a Ebrake. Everything else is like new so it should pass. O but I may have to remove air horns. I think those are illegal unless on a big rig

up here if the department of motor vehichles or police pull you over they can issue a vehichle inspection where it has to pass (at a certified garage) to regain to be road legal. cops are idiots and are not mechanics but talk like they are. I want to voluntary get my truck inspected and get the window sticker to shut them up. doing this way i can leave shop ,fix w/e is needed and return. cops way if issued an inspection is tow to and from shop.
