1965 F250 4x4

Does anybody know this truck? There is no contact info in the add. I would like to know what transmission it has.

Looks to me like lies, lies, & damn lies. The grill is 66. I could not see evidence of fuel injection, air injection yes. My guess on the tranny is granny low correct 4 spd. No way to tell what engine the truck currently has.

You have been around here long enough to know to run when you see a 16-17 mpg claim, it's time to run, add 250 run faster, add 4wd stop and roll on the floor laughing.

How hard is it to swap a '66 grille into a '65? The shifter stick is different than a '435 (could be changed though). The **** almost looks like a ZF ****? It is easy to tell if the motor is a 352/360, 390(/406), or 410/428. It could be a throttle body injection.

As for the mileage, who cares? I was disciplined enough to drive my '66 on a 60 mile round trip at 50 MPH. I almost got 15. If he's lying, so what? How many sellers have you met that are COMPLETELY honest?

I doubt he would lie about something as obvious as a transmission or fuel system.

Agree that looks to be an FE motor. The trans and transfercase appear to be out of a later model truck. Looks like a solid runner though to bad no contact #s I could go take a look for anyone interested though. Its about 45 minutes from me. Dang if I wasnt so truck rich and money poor Id go take a look for myself. Already have my hands full with 2 of these 4x4s. I need another one like I need more holes in my head. Probably not in a big hurry to get rid of it when no numbers are listed.

He has a hydraulic clutch master beside original brake master. Could be that he used an SROD 4spd from an 84-87 f150, they had a removable bellhousing and 4th was od. Guys have adapted them into lots of different things, a very popular Model A swap. I agree, it could have a TBI, projection or something similar. Looks like a nice truck.
