245 EOT; 197 ECT; Is this bad thermostats

When does warranty expire
The in-service date of my 2008 F350 was 02-11-2008. Does the 5 year engine warranty expire on 2-11-13, or the day before. The problem is that the Ford dealers in my area (service dept) are closed on weekends, and they are now closed for Friday. I need to know if I need to find a dealer open on Saturday farther away, or if I can take it in on Monday and just squeek in under the 5 years.

245 EOT; 197 ECT; Is this bad thermostats
I just noticed a small leak from the Driver's side lower corner of radiator on my 08 F350. I read the TSB 09-23-1 on this site and I took a road test with the info. Holding a steady 65 mph, the ECT held at 197 F, & the EOT 245 F. The TSB states EOT should be less than 8 F above ECT. Is this 48 degree difference indicating bad tstat, or has there been an update on the performance specs since the TSB was issued. The truck has no mods at all.

I am using an OTC Genisys scanner to get the readings. The truck went into service 2-11-08, so the warranty is almost up. I have no dealer in my area that has a service dept open until Monday. I guess I will take pictures with a date code and get it in first thing on Monday.

Has your truck gone into low power protection mode...got the wrench icon on the dash display? I had the same delta between ECT and EOT on my 08' and had to have the oil cooler replaced at 112K miles. $3500. (oil cooler, both thermostats, fuel cooler, antifreeze, oil and filter. Changed the upper/lower rad hoses, both drive belts, both fuel filters since I could just pay for parts and have them put on at no added maintence cost). Its a Cab-Off job. Universal Antifreeze had been added to my system and it doesn't play well with Ford Gold Coolant. Got a tiny layer of gelling in the oil cooler. I was not happy.

Hi Erik,
I merged your two threads into one, this way it's easier for us to stay updated. I'd like to mention that an oil cooler replacement is going to be substantially more expensive than a radiator and thermostat replacement, so it's important that you document this in every possible way to ensure you're not left holding the bag with this one!
