On board air- what options are there?

I have a firestone 12volt compressor mounted to the inside of an ammo can lid. And the ammo can mounted outside pass side frame rail oriented upside down. Pop the latch... lid and compressor drops for servicing. Cut a hole in on of the narrow sides of the box and installed a rubber grommet. Power leads, clean air in, and compressed air line out go thru the hole.
My air intake is inside the cab. 3 gallon tank mounted behind ammo can.
2 quick connects at rear bumper.
Works well in emergency situations... but i have to do 4 lugnuts, let it build pressure... then i can do the other 4. Works good for my air/hydraulic jack. Excellent for airing up tires. Dont need engine running to build pressure like if you used an a/c compressor setup.

i have had the extreme outback magnum compressor from clay for a couple of years now, absolutely love it for my air ride suspension. also have an extra coupler to run an air hose. i have probably put over 60 hours on the compressor. id recommend it to anyone, but would suggest it only be run when at high idle.

Pics would be awesome in this thread.... would like to see exactly where and what orientation the compressors and tanks are mounted... how did you route the intake air line into the cab? where did you run the hose to get bumper connection for tools? where did you grab power from? I want to do this and add train horns too ,
thinking continuious duty with 150 psi, 2 gallon tank with enough ports for fill drain, front and rear quick disconnect lines and the horns....

Viair continuous run compressor, horns running about 60#, air at rear bumper (quick connect coupling) 110# (yes two pressure regulators). Under dash power to an on/off switch and light in cab (I only want it to come on when the truck is running) that operates a relay under the hood that operates the compressor. I pulled power off the driver's side battery to the relay and then to the compressor. Probably a three or four gallon tank off a nail gun compressor. I also tied the horns to an on/off/on switch mounted in the dash so I can switch between the stock horn and air horn when needed. The compressor is mounted under the passenger side cab (crew cab) and the tank is under the bed.
I've had it like this for many years (more than 5) and it still works fine.
