1992 F150 Instrument Panel Cluster Swap

Got me a donor instrument cluster with tachometer and I'm not sure if will work. Mine is a 1992 F150 5.0 E4OD and the cluster I got is from a 1995 F150 E4OD 4.9 I guess should've researched before. Question is if these two year models and engine type cluster are compatible to swap without wiring changes. Thanks...

92-93, same

94-97(old body style) there was another change around 95 or 96 I can't recall exactly when...

If you try it and your E4OD gives you trouble don't blame the transmission, put the right cluster back in...

Just take the tach and and gauge modules and put them into your cluster. They swap right out.

Only the PSOM(speedo) will swap between the tach and non-tach clusters.

92 to 93 are direct plug and play. You can use the 94-95 cluster but will have to change a few wires for it to work.

I even installed a tach cluster from a F-series into my E-series 95 E350 bus(E-series never came with tach's). Just had to repin the wire harness correctly for the F-series cluster.

If you are going to use the tach cluster's PSOM(speedo) you more than likely will have to reprogram the PSOM. IF you don't then your speedo/odo will be off.
