does it run better with the spout pulled is my question i plan on bumping my timing this weekend to 13 i just want to know if it would make a differance if i pulled it now

No, it will run much worse... Oh, it will idle fine but the drivability will go away!!!!!

The computer will NOT have any control of timing advance.. It will stumble and just generally run like crap...

so how is advancing the timing possible? or you unplug th spout advance the timing then plug the spout back in?

wait never mind guys i read up on adancing the timing on FSB also the 6liter tune

i do not have an OBD1 reader to check the codes. is there a way to pull the codes without a code reader?

I had that happen once exhaust manifold gasket wasn't sealing properly was sucking air which caused a dumping of fuel in the exhaust made my cat glow red hot spraying some wd 40 around the manifold mating surface while idling will tell you if you have a leak listen for either a rev or retardation of the idling

I'd pull a spark plug or two and have a look. white=lean. they should have some color to them. Google it if you're unsure what spark plugs should look like.

Redneckcowboy.jr has a good idea too. If you spray a combustible material near the head/exhaust manifold interface, you should not have a change in running unless there is a leak. This works for intake leaks too(that's when I have employed it).
