Truck wont start after HPOP re-seal, IPR Ball
Hey guys, just wanted to post these pictures up just incase anyone every had the same problem. My buddies dad has a mint 2001 F350 with 55k on it and i was resealing the HPOP because of the Non-servicable plug leaking. I took the plug out first and must have rotated the pump in such a way that the little check ball fell into the IPR...I was confused for a while since i didn't realize it and tried to start the truck..Here are some pictures of the ball in the tip of the IPR. I was able to lightly tap the IPR flat on a table to get the ball to come out. I was VERY lucky. Hope this thread helps anyone who had or is having the same problem.
So just to clarify -
When removing the Non serviceable plug -
Keep HPOP in SAME position the entire time and check to make sure ball is in the correct hole (Picture 2)
I also found that you can get these check ***** at a local trans rebuild shop. They are 1/4" check *****. (incase you loose yours on the shop floor)
Ball stuck in the IPR
Hole the Ball goes in
Non-servicable plug side
