Thanks a lot Jeff, you have really been a lot of help. But since I probably won't be ordering them for another week or two, I would like to hear a few more different opinionsm, especially from someone that has the newer models with the adjustable height. Either way I will be getting them, but would just like to reinforce my decision a little more. Thanks again Jeff.

NOT the best idea on these trucks. You bolt those CARR steps to the rocker. The rocker is a SINGLE piece of SHEET METAL. Bolting a 8" piece of metal to it then stepping on it TWISTS the flimsy sheet metal rocker.

I would look into something frame mounted

I'm lucky I havent seen any issues and I check for fatigue in the sheet metal. Im guessing the rust belt states would be rougher on that spot of the body

Yeah thats kind of what I was thinking that it didn't seem like the strongest spot to mount a step to. I was looking at something frame mounted and I found the Dee Zee Touhg Step that I thought looked pretty good. I know you have some expereince with them Brad because I was googling pictures of the steps and found one of your truck from your build tread of your CC/SB Dually Conversion. Which by the way really impressed me and the final product really came out great. It really is a great looking truck. Great Job. I've thought about doing that to my truck(even thought my Dad already sort of did, but I don't think he rebuilt it all though), and I don't know if I'd be able to do it all by myselft though.

Well got a little of track there, but yeah tell me how you liked your Dee Zee steps, and anyone else who has had them.

Ok, thanks. I really like the look of the Dee Zee steps and like the idea of them being mounted to frame rather than the rocker, a lot more. I feel like it would be much more sturdy in mounting it to the frame. Brad where did you buy yours from, or do you know of any good places to order truck accesories from because I've been have trouble finding a reliable place to buy parts from.

Love the carr steps had a them on our 93 F250 4x4 and have them currently on our 89 F250 flatbed. Love the look but I don't know about stregnth the truck is low for a F250 4x4 so I just hop right in don't even use it. I need to get a matching one on the passanger side thanks for reminding me (didn't have one we got the truck).

Ok. I think I am going to go with the Dee Zee tough step. I'm just not sure on the price. I found them at Summit racing for $209.95 and from 4wheelparts for $195.29, which is on sale apparently and I can just pick it up in store so no shipping. The summit is without shipping so that will go up. Do these prices sound about right?

we've had the hoop steps on our 96 f250 power stroke since we've had it they are a great product and sturdy, i can bounce on them and i weigh 200, and they are on a all iowan plow truck so there is rust and they hold great!
