Evening guys. I just got home from the Colchester fish and gun club game dinner. I'm beyond full and I have a styrofoam container full of food in the fridge.well worth the $30 at the door.

Good morning Andy!
Time for me to make Sunday breakfast.

The town seems to be out triple time dealing a death blow to the dusting we've received down here.
Suppose they have to burn the budget.

Hi Jim.
I am waiting for my helpers to get up to lend a hand with breakfast.

I have not looked out yet to see if I got any snow.
Jim they have to use it up of they will not get the same amount next year

I know, I know...

Then something like Sandy comes along and we need all the road crews out on overtime and more money needs to be pulled from the rainy day budget to get the roads cleared.

I just got back from cleaning the roads. Spent all night clearing that dusting to a quarter inch.

The roads were kinda slippery. A lot of people have trouble driving when there's a little snow on the ground. They just need to slow down and they'd be alright.

I'm sure there is a liability concern with the local municipalities as well.
In this litigious society where no one wants to assume responsibility for their own reckless actions, and everyone assumes their traction control and four wheel anti-lock brakes will get the vehicle out of any predicament, even a non-event like this would lead costly legal fees.
$10'sk in overtime won't even cover the lawyers retainer.

You got it right Jim. Our boss says it all the time, we are in early and staying late to prevent a lawsuit to the town.

That and he is still paid hourly like the rest of us, and we all like extra pay in our checks

I've got no problem with you or Bigguy doing your jobs Dano.
And I'm glad you can make a few extra bucks. We all could use some.

I'm torn about the whole thing. I like/need the extra $, and I'm happy that we get so much overtime. But as a taxpayer it is wasteful, it is preventing a possible lawsuit but still wasteful
