Finally getting ready to do my e-fuel conversion. Tired of chasing leaks. I cant remember what size the freeze plug for the old pump is to plug the hole. Also how much of a benefit is the fuel cooler. What pressures to run on the fuel side and the return side. What is the best way to get the pump out without loosing the plunger into the motor. Also any other pointers to help me out would be greatly appreciated. thanks
The system runs on 65psi. To get the fuel pump out easy, unbolt it then turn the motor over by hand tell it pushes up. Never herd of putting a cooler on these.
The 2 fittings on the back of the heads are a PITA to get of so I left some of the existing hard line and connected SS braided to them with I believe are called compression couple/fitting. Here is a pic of my system
Did the same with the supply and return
Oh yeah and the freeze plug is a 7/8. The fuel pressure is regulated on the return. I am currently using an Airtex fuel pump but I'm getting a Bosch from riff raff that is used in the super duties. Have u gotten your filters or anything yet?
Aren't the airdog filter a proprietary filter in which case you'd need to carry a spare with you? Or can you change the airdog out with one from Napa if need be on the side of the road.
It seems like it'll be a good system. I've seen a lot of different ways of people doing it. Looks like it'll be an easy install. I talked to the quite a bit before buying it. I got my tax return yesterday and sent the payment right after. They said they make them on an as order deal so it'll take a week or so to get it. Ill know more then.
Looks like a good setup Daniel. For a real good price. I wish I would have bought a complete kit. This piecing together crap was a pain in my a$$, and I'm not far away from that total.
Yeah that's why I ended up with a kit. One I don't really have the time to be running to every store here in town. Two I knew with a kit everything would work together. And they tell me it comes with everything so you can open the box up and not walk away until the truck is running again we shall see!!! Ill have a write up on it when I'm get it in.
