I found a good deal on a 08 f250 5.4 4x4 XL White of course.. its a bit plain for my taste.. but for 11grand it looks like brand new and has a tic over 100k miles. I want to see pics of customized XL trucks.. anything from swapping the headlights, grilles, interior, suspension.. so on.. trying to see how un work truck I can make it look. Thanks

 

I think I recall seeing a similar thread on here before...to me the xl headlights are the worst feature, they would be the first to go then if does`nt already have the tow mirrors that`d be next, for interior I`d find some nice seat covers maybe get carpet for floorboard and for me being in AZ some nice dark window tint

 

Why no love for the XL's?? What's wrong w/ simplicity? All I've done to mine is put a oem cd player in it.

 

simplicity is what draws me to it.. but not a fan of the nose and and wheels.. and the oil company truck appearance.

 

You you should be able to upgrade to xlt headlights, grille, and wheels pretty easy. If you get a good deal on the truck you could put a little into it.

 

My 04 f350 xl took a little bit of tooling around with to get the look I wanted. Personally I prefer manual door locks and windows, rubber floor...less to go wrong, easy to clean. Also, I would take manual locking hubs and a 4wd shifter on the floor ANY day over ESOF and all the problems that come with it. The truck really sharpened up having the windows tinted. Running stock gray steel wheels I found a set of black hub caps from an excursion and slapped those one. I think they look better. Leveling the front end gave it a nice stance. For now I am only running 285's, but they look ok. Luckily I didn't get one with the glass headlamps...not a huge fan of those. Picked up some camo seat covers from Cabelas...Hatchie Bottom armour suede made to fit the 40/20/40 front seats and 60/40 rear supercab split bench. Still looks like a fleet truck a little, but it works for me.

I know your is an 08 but xl can go a long way from stock. Here is my 04 with 07 lights, 07 grille, 07 bumper,and 2012 mirrors. Also added King ranch wheels

 

I bought an XL in December 2003 because for $28,356 cash I was able to get a V10 6 speed manual, manual hubs, manual transfer case, manual windows, rubber floormats, 4.30 gears, extended cab shortbox and ordered it the way I wanted it. Best truck I ever owned and photos were in gallery but I can't seem to get the gallery to open. I particularly like the simplicity of the XL's and lack of chrome, especially in red.
