How does the Fwd Edge do in snow?

I had an '09 Escape AWD and it was a bear in snow. Will be getting an Edge soon and wondered how the FWD handles the snow. I have a 4x4 F150 for the really bad snow days but want the Edge to be capable as well. Don't really want the expense and lower MPG of the AWD if the FWD is pretty good in the snow. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Can't speak specifically to the Edge, but I've driven a few FWD cars in the snow. They worked just fine. Good tires, and the usual care will get you most places. Deep snow will get you in trouble, but you know that and have the F150 for that.

Ditto, just bought 2013 edge AWD, and it is excellent in the snow. I to debated FWD vs AWD, but to me MPG's were not that much different (18/25 vs 19/27). Also AWD handles good in all conditions IMHO.

I have a '13 FWD Limited. In 2 snowfalls, I've been very pleased with how it gets around. It's not a Humvee, but driven properly, it does very well.

same here. I have a 2010 FWD Edge for normal days, and a F150 4 x 4 for the deep stuff. Works great.
We just replaced the EXP 4 x 4 with the Edge this winter.

Just like any other FWD- put your foot on the gas to get out of trouble, use your brakes to gently slow down.
