Replacing TPS + MAP + Fuel Filter = New Truck!

Can't believe the difference after replacing the sensors and fuel filter. No sputter, smooth, could be just me, but I feel like I'm getting a better shift point also.

Next up for easy upgrades, msd cap, coil, and ford racing wires.

Anyone got any other simple yet effective upgrades for me?

I'm willing to bet your sputtering was a clogged FF, the TPS tells the trans when to shift, and the MAP sensor kinds tells the computer how much vacuum there is in the intake.

Its just weird slight bogging down before I replaced everything. Replaced the TPS and the idle was horrible. Up and down between 250 and 1250 RPM. Replace the filter, just a tad better. Then replace the MAP and bam! Everything is perfect. Guess with all parts old, the computer found a way to just chug along.

Interesting, as the MAP has no moving parts and is typically rather reliable. It would be interesting to do some forensics on that part and see what was failed/failing.

The best bang for the buck is upgrading the exhaust, nothing will give you bigger gains for the same money.

You won't really find anything inside of it. Just a sealed pressure sensor cell and some electronics.

Oh I know. Just funny how much of a difference it made.
