BTS valve body

tranny is starting to slip, would a bts modified valve body fix this or is that more of a preventative measure instead of a bandaid

Not a fix. If you're actually overpowering the holding capability of any of the clutches in the transmission, then it's time for a rebuild.

Contrary to popular internetz forum belief, an aftermarket or modified valve body does not make the transmission stronger in any regard.

How many miles on the trans? I have 285,000 miles on mine and it was starting to have minor slipping issues. I installed a John Wood Valve body 6,000 miles ago, and right away I noticed a huge difference! It almost felt like a whole new truck, I still have a very minor slip even after the install but its got miles on it. I saw lower trans temps also after doing the VB swap. The shifts on the JW are not too firm and fast, especially on WOT runs! I know the JWVB clay has, if you go with a BTS trans I believe he will credit the VB ad the install time. If you want to go through with the swap I have my stocker I can send you for the core if you dont want to down the truck. I see it as preventative but also a bandaid in my case since I plan on a re-build this summer.

I have a BTS valvebody and I like it. It shifts great and no problems. Will it help an worn Trans? Mabe mabe not. If you wind up needing a Trans later then you can put the valvebody in the new Trans. It definatly makes the stock Trans shift better. It would be a good idea to do a Trans flush at the same time.
