Hey Guys

I have a friend that has a 2007 F450 V10 Tow truck with only 600 miles on it. The guy is in his late 60's early 70 and it's baby. Trouble is when they sold it to him that did not tell him you couldnt use a PTO,. because of fly by wire...is what he was told. So he can't operate the boom and increase the idle.

I have a high shop and found there were a few post about adding a switch, rewire and adding some resistors. I was wondering if this will work on the 2007 gas V10 motor. I'd really like to help this guy out. Truck is just sitting there.

Hmmmm 52 lookers and no takers?? I did get a little more information that there is a bullentin Q108R1 pertaining to this issue. However after talking to my friend and mentioned that some diode was put in it ??? It's my interpitation is that this is a switched option and no switches were added.

You may have to get a PTO controller from ford. IIRC it plugs into the TPS on the pedal and adjusts it that way. It's a similar setup to the diesels since they are DBW only. Have you tried contacting ford about getting a controller?
