Wink OT (a bit) BIO Diesel as a cleaner

Has anyone used say 99.9% Bio-Diesel as a cleaner on grease or flash rust?
reason I ask is I'm trying to find something cheaper than Boesheild's "Rust Free" to clean up some flash rust on my truck and my Mustang and thought that from what I've heard Bio cleans very well.....
I can get Bio 99.9% locally for about $3.75 per gallon now as opposed to $60.00 for a gallon of "Rust Free"

I made a few small batches of bio a couple years ago and it was a very good degreaser/solvent. Not sure about the rust part though. Bump for you.

Not sure where your 'flash rust' is located on your truck, but biodiesel is not the best choice for removing it. It will work, but a lot slower at breaking down rust than petroleum based product. Besides, if the flash rust is on your chassis, you'll want to be careful about getting any on or around rubber parts like seals, bushings and the like. It will eventually dissolve them. If this flash rust is on your body panels, then you'll need to be careful about getting too much on there as it will eventually dissolve your paint.

Yes. Rubber fuel lines will leak. Twice I've had BIO create pin holes in the middle of a line, away from fittings. Get 30R9 hose with a Teflon liner.

I have ran a few thousand of gallons of commercial B100 through my 100% stock 2000 superduty fuel system without issue.

I am not saying nothing will happen, it just didn't to me.

None. I had noticed your other thread about the the pickup foot possibly having come off. For what it's worth, I did the in tank mods a little over a year ago. There was absolutely nothing in there to indicate that biodiesel had degraded anything inside the tank. The pickup foot was in fine order, and as a matter of fact, the mixing screens were spotless. I was sort of hoping to find some sort of junk in there, especially after hearing about others experiences here, but everything looked great. I have run over a couple thousand gallons of B100 over the last several years.

-Getting ready to drop the tank here soon and do the Harpoon, Hutch, remove the restrictor in the fuel filler neck, and add the S/D kit.

careful on getting any VO on any asphalt. it will eat it away. I am assuming BIO would be the same.

didn't want your to have holes in your drive way if you happen to have an asphalt in your drive way. it will eat it away over time.

I spilled some VO at my folks in OR. there is a softball size hole, and thats in the Portland area that RAINS a LOT.
