Okay so so I was driving down the road and my hub and outer bearing on my from axle blew out... wondering how I tell if its a heavy duty dana 44 or not. my pick ups 1969 f250 highboy its a close knuckle low pinion 44 just wondering if its HD so I can rebuild it. No axle tags found on it... any info would be greatly appreciated

I don't think Dana have an axle tag. They use a stamped "Bill of Materials" (BOM) number stamped on the housing.
Also you should be able to tell by the front axle GVW on the body plate.
Usually (maybe always) the light duty has a tapered hub and a smaller lockout, The heavy duty has a straight hub and is bigger, same as all the 70s 3/4 ton chevys, lockout parts even interchange between chevy and heavy duty Ford, just the color of the plastic center was different.
If I remember right, the hubs were made by Warn with the Ford oval on the dial. My 70 CC has a HD, and my 76 CC has a LP 60. But I can't tell what GVW it has as the left door has been replaced, and the warranty/safety sticker is blank except for the vin.
