I am in need of some guidence. I have a 09 F150 Super Crew. We upgraded our trailer to a29' approx 7000lbs. Have issues with sway, and feel like the trailer controls me at times.
I have put in airbags, that did not help. Just redid our eq system to the 4point equalizer anti sway and that made a difference.
Is the trailer to much for the truck? Should i go to a 250?
Well, ah, yeah, a 250+ would likely solve the problem, for a price. How about your tires? Are they LT's rated at load range E? I still haven't tried my flatbed since I upgraded to LT's, but hope to try it soon. It's just too bloody cold to play right now!
I tow a 33' TT over 7500 lbs. and was having the same problem until I installed a dual cam sway control system with 1200 lb. weight distribution bars. It solved the sway problem, and the truck tows very good now. I bought the Reese system. Your truck should handle your TT fine with the proper set up that is adjusted for the load.
I got the 4 way system from equalizer. Should be good! Thanks for the advice. I will be trading my truck in in the fall, will be curious if the new engines will handle the weight
Maybe your tow set up just might need to be adjusted, and possibly more tension on the bars. It took me a few test drives with the camper to get it right.
I have BFG all terains. Yes rated at E
The only thing with this trailer is it is high off the ground...
Check your tire air pressure as well. That may help a bit.

If you are looking to trade anyway. Check out the EGO boost engine. Very powerful platform. Torque comes up quick like a diesel making it great for towing. Also look into the longer wheelbase with the 6.5' bed. They are inherently more stable.
You mention a weight of 7000#, Is that the dry wt, gross wt, or actual wt of your trailer? For calculations... Always work off the gross wt of your trailer.
Thanks! I was curious about the ECO boost as I was not sure about power and the gear ratio. Going to be interesting! I always settled before. This time I want loaded! Now to find the best one.
