Truck is dead on the side of the road.
Driving to work this morning. Cold rain falling doing maybe 55mph. Gave it a little throttle to climb a hill and....BANG. Started running very rough with no power at all. Threw it in neutral and did a u turn at the top of the hill thinking I was going to limp it home, but when I dropped it back into gear and let off the clutch it chugged hard once and died.
Now not only will it not restart it wont even turn over. It rolls about half of one crank and kills all the lights like the batteries are dead...... or it's hydrolocked.
The good news is the wife was still home and got me out of the rain... and I've help coming to get it back to the house.
Symptoms sound familiar to anyone? I'm hoping that its something simple like bent pushrods or broken rockers, but like everyone else my mind jumps to worst case scenario....... sucks.

The oil cooler has been leaking for a while.... nothing major though. Definitely wasn't a boot. Been there, not the same.
I just got it home. It's not locked now. Spins over...... but it's loud. Might be popping out the intake, which would lend credence to the valvetrain theory, but I didn't pop the hood yet.
No idea if it was smoking. I leave for work well before daylight..... and the exhaust exits above the cab. lol.
Gonna take the car and go make up some hours. Hopefully it will clear off in the morning so I can check it more thoroughly without freezing to death.
The thought has crossed my mind. Covers will be off tomorrow, weather permitting, won't be any big deal to pop the sticks out if the valvetrain is in one piece. Wonder if Lott would sell me a replacement tip? What does a cracked tip sound like?
