I thought I heard that it is Valvoline oil...check the part number. Someone said that the part numbers are identical to Valvoline's part number...Remember, this is from a worn out brain - may have dreamed (during my afternoon nap) all that I stated.

NO, I would not. It isn't because I don't think it is a quality oil (you might want to check to see if they have a VOA of NapaGold at Bobistheoilguy.com) but because I can get Delo for about $2 more per gallon. I've used Delo in heavy trucks for 40 years. So for a savings of $8 a change...no. In the winter I run 5-40 T6...

I have no doubt it is a quality oil (Napa Gold 15-40), but I am slow to change unless the perceived gain is great...$8 a change just isn't great for me. I wouldn't step foot in Autozone though for any gain!

FL-1995's are $9.98 @ WallyWorld. (If I'm not mistaken)

correction...$9.84, BUT $9.99 at Autozoo. I rack my card up with points, buying fuel lines for seadoo/jetski repair...

Ya Neal, IF it was summertime, i'd probably use it, considering, not much driving i do during that season...

Gotcha. I assumed you were paying $20 for filters at the Zoo. I don't often visit AZ's.

All napa brand fluids are valvoline. I knew a few guys that worked there for 15 years. They also told me while it is the valvoline name it's more of a fleet grade oil. Basically what valvoline rejects goes into napa bottles.

I have the evidence...the Napa oil (Universal Fleet 15W-40) and Valvoline are both produced by Ashland, Inc. out of Ashland, KY. If you look at the MSDS sheet and the Valvoline product sheets (below) for those oils, you will see Ashland in large type on the sheets. Ashland wholly owns Valvoline.

most name brand oils are good oils, provided it meets specs, the question is for how long, the oil sample is the only way I know to answer that.
