what auto transmissions bolt up to the 4.6

i'm in the process of making up a parts list for my truck '56' f100.
i plan on installing a 4.6 with oem computer. what automatic transmissions fit the 4.6. looking for as many gears as possible. 5-6 speed auto…. don't mind needing a after market controller.
most of my driving will be on texas freeways. 70-80 mph. so tall finals is needed.
but also have plans for towing old shasta style camper out west. so need the extra gears for the hills… don't want to use a gear vender unit… have considered a modified 2speed gear set off a 4x4. but would rather have all the gears as one unit. i.e. a newer style auto transmission.
i know there are several choices if i used a manual, but that is out of the photo...
thanks.

ps: recyclers just look at me when i ask them..

4R70W, 5R55S (Explorer), Torqueshift, 6R60, 6R80, 6HP26 come to mind. Of those I would choose based on strength and reliability Torqueshift>6R80>6R60>4R70W>6HP26>5R55S. The 4R70W would be easiest and cheapest IMO to make work.

Forgot about the 4R100/E4OD. I would place that one ahead of the 4R70W in terms of strength and right behind it for reliability.

Ditto the 5er from the Explorer. Should be called the "Problematic".

looks like the tried and true 4 speed 4r70w or one of the 6 speeds 6R80/6R60/6HP26
now to look up the final drive ratios and decide what rear ratio and tire sizes to match with them to find my rpm and road speed numbers.
thanks a lot, this will help me move the project along.
