I replaced it last night, and it works like a charm! It's louder than my original one, but hey, it works..

I am facing the same problem, and want to hear mine over the exhaust - got a part #, mfg?

I don't think that flasher unit is the actual fuse. It's a type of thermal circuit breaker (the factory unit is, anyhow), and could be used as such, but there should be a fuse for the turn signal circuit feeding that flasher.

Glad you got it fixed. I just went to AutoZone and got the electronic version when my factory thermal unit died. It's fairly loud so maybe go check those out. Think it was Trident brand?
