Will I had some time today to go to a big truck parts store . I left them with my master cylinder and he is going to find me one. They also have a big rig repair shop and I am having them press my mid shift bearing on to my driveshaft too.
I also called a big rig salvige yard in michagin about a diesel motor for it. I gave him my build sit so hopefully josh will take a look at this and help me come up with a great drive train

Just my opinion why to put a 4 dollar a gal diesel in it? All that work changing
rear ends. Stick a 391 in it they go right in with no mods. And then I spent
a grand for a hydraulic lift gate for my 56 ten wheeler guess its different strokes for different folks. Of course i'm in a different position when the highway dept calls in the trucks for snow the 391s start, start throwing cab heat, diesel loader; forget it, unless I keep it inside cause the block heater took a dump and its a bear to replace.

$4 per gallon diesel engine that will get 10 mpg, or a $3.50 per gallon gas engine that will get 5-6mpg?
diesel just makes more sense.
and diesel fuel will not go bad if the truck sits for 6 months.

And there is an additive for that too. At least for commercial Big Rigs.
How different is automotive diesel. Or is there such a thing?

I hope Diesel Kleen works for that. My 91 7.3L IDI has been sitting for over 2 years now. and that's the only additive I dumped in before I parked it.

New motor

Will , it looks like I m going to trough a 391 ( the one in the video)for now in my truck.
I have made plans to run down and get it. I meet with a friend that is a old school fleet mechanic and he is hooking me up with a new flywheel and a new bell housing ,new truoughout bearing ,clutch ,new in the box exhaust manifolds and some other goodys from his stash of NOS parts
I still need to till my wife but I'm going to till her that we are going down to the blue ridge park way to take in the beautiful fall colors
