2002 f-450 V8 Diesel. Engine keeps cutting out.
Have a 2002 F-450 Super Duty V8 Diesel. Starts up ok and i can leave it running, then the engine just cuts out on it's own, sometimes after a minuite or two, sometimes after 15-20 mins. No engine warning light and it starts up again straight away. Seems to cut out a lot quicker if wipers on or using high beam flash or hazards or turning lights on and off. Hope someone has an idea for me. Checked earths, all seem ok. Hope someone can point me in the direction to look at.....Thanks.

First thing I would look at would be the CPS(CMP camshaft position sensor).
It's a simple swap and based on your wipers seeming to have an effect, seems like maybe it is an aftermarket CPS rather than a OEM. You can get an OEM from ford or international for around $20 btw, and it is about the only part I personally suggest throwing at an issue like this without further diagnostics.
Really there are only a few things that will kill the engine like you turned the key off, but others would require some further diagnostics such as KOEO for possible stored codes.

-Guys, I found him up in the SuperDuty/HeavyDuty forum, and invited him down to our GREAT '99-'03 7.3PSD forum!!
-I sure agree that he should check to see if the recall has been done on his truck first.
-I think I also suggested swapping in a GOOD quality CPS......
-Whatever you do DO NOT let a dealer hold your truck hostage and tell you there are thousands of $$ worth of repairs needed!!--WE CAN and WILL help you through doing whatever repairs you need to make on your own and save you a TON of $$ to boot!!

Thanks for your input and welcome. The wagon has 49282Km. Do not know if it has had a recall as i have inherited it at my new job and have no info. on it, so do not know if it has had a sensor change or anything. Will get a photo for you to see as it has been retrofitted as a Fire/Rescue vehicle. Will check out sensor, getting a new one takes time and will be a lot more than $20 here!!!!!
