No start after injector swap, could use some guidance

You mentioned the IPR plug, and certainly appears there's trouble there, but Drake was referring to the ICP plug as well. It's on the front inside face of the DS head. Pull that electrical connector off and if the plug is wet with oil then that sensor is going bad and can cause startup and fuel delivery problems since these injectors rely on high pressure oil to actuate.

So did you actually remove the IPR or just the solenoid? Sounds like you just removed the solenoid.
This is the IPR with solenoid removed.

Nice job! Sounds like you are going to be home free once you replace the pigtail and re-install tue IPR coil.
I hope a lot of folks read this thread and identify that we have a strong trend happening these days with bad IPR connector wires and possible even the occasional coil or tin nut issue. We all should make time to inspect the wires on our trucks, for whatever reason, that particular pair of wires seems to degrade much sooner than other wires in the system.

Alright... cut a pigtail off the old harness, fit the weather seal on it and plugged her in. Turned over a few times and fired right up. After a few minutes she was running smooth. I'll be sure to put a few miles on this weekend.
Yes, it was just the solenoid that had gotten loose. I cleaned it and re-installed.
Seems like it. After idling/revving for a while the miss that I had is gone. So I wasted a little time with the injector swap, but I learned a lot about the engine and it's running system. That comes in handy on the side of the road
Thanks for all the help!
Edit:
Just read back through the thread, and realized Shake-N-Bake posted the solution 8 minutes after my initial post. Unfortunately, until today, I had hte IPR confused with another sensor above it.
What was loose was the solenoid that slips onto the IPR and is held tight with the nut and top hat spacer. It will run with a loose nut but not real well. The solenoid is an electo-magnet. It gets a 400 hertz signal from the PCM and controls a small needle valve in the IPR to adjust ICP (Injector Control Pressure).
So did you actually remove the IPR or just the solenoid? Sounds like you just removed the solenoid.
