I bought a 2003 Expedition XLT Premium a few weeks ago. On the XLT, there is an opening in the front bumpber, where there is a grill on the Eddie Bauer. I thought something was missing, so I called the dealer and he says to cut costs the grill is not installed on the XLT.

Ford does not have a part for the XLT, but they suggested I use the one for the Eddie Bauer. However, the EB comes in Arizona Beige and the XLT grills aren't colored.

I found a few Billet Bumper Inserts online for under $100. They come in polished, black and brushed. Does anyone know which insert is the correct one for the XLT to match the factory upper grill?

Does anyone else not like this gapping hole in the bumper?

 

Yes, I hate the black hole in my front-end, but I'm waiting for some answers just like you. There was some mention about this topic a couple months ago, but I lost track of it. You may want to try a search.

 

I hate the hole in my front bumper (if you can call plastic that) too. Haven't found a decent solution yet.

 

My wife wanted to know why ours did not have the "little grill" and some of the others around town did. I told her it would cost her a few grand to get it !

Seriously though, I have searched the I-net and have not found anything yet. If anyone has found something post a web link!

 

One of these days I'm going to find an Eddie Bauer part, see if it just "snaps in", and then paint it if it does. Just waiting for someone who has upgraded their EB to billet to post their original parts on Ebay.

If someone wants to sell me a used stock EB lower insert, I'll take it.
