fantasy speed density build

my truck is starting to get noisy. i am going to buy a junkie motor and build it up as much as the speed density can handle then swap it in. i used to work at an engine shop so i am going to have my old boss build it for me. BUT i want to keep this thing speed density. what are my options? can i port/polish/mill the head? how much compression can i run? (i dont mind running 93) how much over can i bore it? i know theres speed density freindly cams. this is my daily so i really dont want to butcher it up by changing over to a carb. MAYBE a mass air swap but around here i would have a really hard time finding a donor truck. id like to start buying parts so i need some advice. i really want to keep all the emissions stuff and have everything look factory. turnover once i have the parts is only a few days.

also- will the motor lift out with the tranny attached?

This article made me stay near stock config.
Fuel Injection Technical Library » EFI Performance Upgrades

As for pulling engine and tranny together, I prefer to separate, they are a mile long together and something always seems to get mashed when trying to do at one time.
