Just got a phone call from my service, they said my front tie rod was extremely loose and my radiator was leaking. They also mentioned a $100 deductible which I was not aware of when I paid for the extended warranty. Interesting but I guess it isn't to bad, I wish this was taken care of of my last 2 visits for service when I mentioned I had a coolant leak. If I had known there was a deductible I would have pushed harder to have this fixed before I hit 60K miles last week. We'll see what happens but I'm just hoping everything is good after. I wonder if I will have a vehicle to drive on X-Mas because my only other transportation right now is a motorcycle!

Got my truck back 2 mornings later and the radiator and tie rod was replaced on drivers side from what I could see. 50 miles later I hit a bump on the freeway and it starts to wobble again but not as bad thankfully, was able recover with a hard tap of the brakes after making sure nobody was behind me. Made another appointment (1-5-2016) to have it re-serviced, they better not try to charge me another $100 deductible. I only have 60,5XX miles. This will be my second visit for the same thing.

Time flies!
Still have the truck and just out of warranty at 75,000+ miles on the clock.
Last visit for warranty was a CEL code for bad DEF tank heater.
Now that I am out of warranty I plan to do some modifications and I would like to thank Ford-Truck Enthusiasts and YOKOHAMA Tires for a set of
GEOLANDAR M/T G003™

through your photo contest! I can't wait to get the tires on my wheels and hit the trails again this summer and winter!

Thanks 94ruck!
I appreciate the shout out.
Planning a 2-3" lift + wheels and better shocks to go along with the tires I just won.
Maybe a DPF back exhaust, fog lights and a topper.
Since I use this to tow a lot I like to keep it pretty simple.

It's been a long time since I have posted updates with moving my business office and home but I am back! Last September I won FTE's Yokohama Geo Landar 003 M/T tire photo contest. I had the tires mounted on my platinum 20" wheels (275-65-20) oem size. I will add some photos but first let me write my impression about the tires in the last 2000 miles.

I hauled the tires down to "Americas Tire" to have them mounted along with my worn out wheels/tires as I was still driving on my stock 18" tires/wheels.
These are my 4th set of tires, they seem to last me about 20,000 miles per set due to my heavy foot, back to the Yokohama Geo Landar 003 M/Ts.
Driving on the pavement after leaving the tire shop I immediately noticed how quiet the tread pattern is against the asphalt. I always notice excessive noise from other trucks with M/T tires which made me happy, probably the quietest M/T tires around.
In October ('17) I towed my 22' enclosed trailer with car (7500 lbs total) on a 700 mile trip.
Fuel mileage was close to the same as my last set of all season OEM tires that come on stock platinum wheels.
Comy riding rubbers!
Balance when hitting bumps on the road and freeway feel just as good as any set of normal tires.
December we got a few showers here in California and the tires performance in the rain is just as great.
The rubber compound feel nice and sticky/pliable, braking is slightly louder when slowing down or turning, faster then normal but under normal cruising conditions there is no tracking or shudders transferring into the steering wheel when going over bumps, actually better then my last set of OEM Michelin.
I still have to do some dirt/snow wheeling other then the flat farm land out family has, hopefully in the next couple weeks after my moving is done.

Last December, my car started to have problems starting in the morning.
Inspected the original batteries and found the drivers side had red showing through the indicator that the original batteries come with. Passenger side showed green so I went ahead and just replaced the drivers side. Every morning or when engine was cold it didn't start on the first crank but would on the second after an extended wait for the coil light to turn off.
3 days ago It just stopped starting so I went ahead and replaced the passenger side battery also. Starts up every single time now!
So now I have a modest 81,500 miles since January 2013 when I bought the truck till now, here are the parts I replaced that went bad.

Under warranty a tie rod came first. This was most likely from driving on tires with about 20% or less life left and the death wobble you get with old or out of balance tires when hitting bumps. I never get the death wobble when the tires are brand new.
Second came the typical leaky radiator at about 50K miles.
at about 74K the DEF tank heater threw a CEL code, replaced under extended warranty.
Third came both batteries at 85,500 miles.

I have to say it's been a very reliable truck.

The front brake pads were replaced at about 55,000 miles then the rears at 68,000 miles.

Oil I do every 5000 miles with Motorcraft full synthetic.

I will write a separate post showcasing the Yokohama tires with photos coming next month.
I test drove a couple 2017s and really like them, little attached to the '12 tho.
More updates will come along as I own this truck but so far it's been very reliable for me as my first brand new vehicle and Ford.
