Spare Tire

I want to mount the spare for my 70 250 under the bed. I haven't seen any available hardware for doing so. Does anybody know an easy way to do this. I was thinking I'd either fabricate something, or try to adapt the setup from my 97 Ranger when I sell it.

I seem to remember my '69 F100 having the tire under the bed when I bought it? It was 25 yrs ago.......maybe I'm dreaming?

No reason you couldn't adapt a late model arm and hang it? Or even a newer cable style?

Why reinvent the wheel?

There was a simple spare tire carrier of that era. I know they go back to the 66. I don't know why one from any truck 60s up wouldn't work under your truck.

The one under my 06 doesn't look very different.

Where are you located? I have my original one from my 67 that I'd get rid of/sell

They are a real pain if the caged nut that the shank screws into breaks its weld while you are on the side of the road, and it just spins around and you don't have a vicegrips to hold it.

Whiz over to Hectors and have Ken weld it, or buy a NOS nut.
