Hey Guys - New NorCal Guy
Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to introduce myself since I'm a little new to posting on FTE and will be joining the Nor Cal Chapter.
Back in October I bought my first SD truck. 03 F250 LB called Plain Jane. It is so basic I couldn't think of a better name for it. It's your basic contractor model that came with vinyl bench seat and mat, AM/FM radio, no AC, 2wd, no electric anything, and sans cruise control, etc. I joke that when I bought it I looked at the grill for a little while trying to find the spot to insert the hand crank for starting! LOL!
Anyway, I'm a pretty decent mechanic and do pretty much all of my own work on everything I own, which is a fairly extensive list: 2003 F250, 2012 Yamaha WR450, 2010 Yamaha YZ250, 2005 Yamaha FZ6, 1981 Honda XL 500, and 1980 Jeep CJ7. I make my local motorcycle shop and parts house happy by having all those rigs.
I work in the medical device industry and also have a side business called Extreme Dual Sport making parts for Dual Sport motorcycles www.extremedualsport.com. Feel free to check out our website if you are interested in Dual Sport or Adventure motorcycle. We are currently only offering turn signals but I have been developing, and I'm about ready to release, a dual sport kit for Yamaha WR motorcycles. That should pop up on the website in a month or so.
I hope everyone had a great and safe New Year!

Where to start?
I've already swapped out the bench seat for some captain's chair buckets and pulled the radio to install something that's a little more 21st century.
I have the center console but need to install the mounting studs in the floor. I'm looking for a carpet kit before I do that because I don't want to rip out the vinyl and reinstall it. The truck should look a lot better with the carpet and the SO will probably appreciate it too.
Before that I' need to do ball joints. Just got the Moogs in on Sunday so I need to find the time to do that. With the dirt bike racing season starting in two weeks it's going to get a little rough.
I do have a question going back to the seat swap about a connector under the driver side. I'll grab a few pics soon and post and ask the question then.
Looking forward to a little more "local" crowd!

I'm located south of San Jose, a little town called Morgan Hill.
Judging from the Members list, it looks like there are a lot of us FTE'ers in MH.
I see you're in Yreka. Nice area up there. I've done some dirt bike riding near there out of Ashland, OR. We usually ride down to the Klamath and head west, but I'm familiar with your area.
Thanks for the welcome guys, I'm looking forward to helping out and getting a little help too.
Anyone, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I'm in and out sometimes but I'll answer any mail.
BTW, you guys need to check the Youtube link in my signature. I don't want to give it away but it involves me and a bear. The whole story is on the page so you'll know what you're seeing.

todd, nice to meet you man. glad you're enjoying the joys of the forum. some of the guys i work with are trying to get me to buy a bike but i think those days are over. i'll ride mountain bikes and snowboard but the motorcycle days are probably a bit over. UNLESS, i got some sweet deal on a two-stroke 250...
anyhow, sounds like your truck conversions sound like they are going well. as for that connector under your seat i have one too and if i remember its not connected to anything. i haven't seen it in awhile but i'm guessing its for a different interior pkg. lariat/king ranch. probably dealing with seat movements and heater options. not sure exactly but i'm sure someone else will chime in... and when they do, i'll learn something too.
take care man. enjoy the site.
