Those can be symptoms.

Try pulling it and re-seating it if you are having those issues.

i was having some stall issues with mine at start up when it would move out of warm up mode and that fixed it.

I still carry a spare though.

classic symptoms are shutting off when letting of the go pedal (like in a turn) and starts right back up....eventually it won't start right back up. When this happens watch the RPM gage while cranking (with good batteries), if it doesn't bounce...chances are it is a CPS. many more symptoms as well...people will add to the list.

Alright, ill try pulling it and swapping with one from another one of our trucks. It stalled on my the other day when i was going through a 10 mph curve with my 28ft camper, it was a hell of a ride but i made it around. It normally does it when i am coasting to a stop after letting off the throttle or it will idle and eventually stall, occasionally after driving but it usually idles just fine after a cold start. When it stalls while coasting i can shift into neutral and it starts back up like nothin even happened.

If it is actually the CPS , a scan will show a CPS code ... Changing it is a cheaper test ...

I've heard that a bad CPS can do all kinds of weird things like screw with windshield wipers.

Its the other way around . The wipers can cause CPS symptoms. True though , there are loads of things that can mimic a CPS issue ...

Ours would some time shut off and would take a little bit to restart. It was 100% random. Replaced it and have not had any issues since.

Mine would shut off like you turned the key off. I would leave it idle somewhere and walk away and I'd come back and the engine would be off. Also, would stall when it was driving sometimes, like you turned the key off. Had a couple of dicey moments in traffic. Sometimes when it would stall while driving, I could pop it into neutral (the truck had an E4OD back then), restart it immediately, and go right back to driving. Then, it started doing it where it wouldn't restart, and I stopped up a busy intersection in downtown Evansville for about five minutes one day, and then got serious about fixing it.

Piece of cake to replace and pretty affordable. You might as well replace it if you suspect that it's giving you problems.

Well got the new cps in. Runnin fine now but ill be sure after it goes 100 miles without stumbling. Thanks for your help guys! By the way anyone who is needing to replace theirs i wouldnt recommend taking the old one out n trying to reseat it, i ended up breaking mine into 3 peices when removing it, in our other obs 7.3s theyve come out ok but mine wouldnt budge until breaking.
