2002/3 lariat wheels do not fit on 2000 f250
I bough a set of of nice lariat wheels that seller said were from a 02 or 03 and when i tried to have my tire place install them they would not work. They look like they will line up, but when its time to put them on, it wouldn't fit. Its off by a fraction. The stud holes on the lariat rims are concave vs straight on the 2000. The rims say 8 x170mm on the lariat rims. Is there anything that i can do?
I thought all Superduty/Excursion rims 99-04 where interchangeable, but now it looks like i have an extra set of rims that i am going to have to get rid of.

WHEELS DON'T FIT
I have a similar problem. I sold a 96 F-350 crew cab 4x4 with 7.3 diesel but kept some nice alloy wheels that it had. I then bought a 2003 F-350 4x4 crew cab with the 6.0 diesel. And had the same experience: the 96 wheels are just a teensy bit different, both the center hole and the bolt hole spacing. Not much, maybe fractions of an inch. But they do not fit my 03.
I'm wondering if the older wheels were made to an SAE standard and my 03 is metric (everything else on the 03 is metric)

Wheels
With that stamped engineering number in the wheel, they are definitely "F" series wheels, and not "E" series wheels. However, the wheels on my truck (same wheels) do not have those inserts in the lug holes. I think someone installed those to install the wheels on some other truck. The problem is that they may have had to drill out the original holes to install those inserts. Try to carefully bang out one of the inserts and then measure the hole diameter and compare it to the holes on the wheels that are currently on your truck. If they're the same size, then bang all of them out and install the wheels. The wheels on our Super Duties are "hub centric" meaning the wheel centers itself on the hub, not the lug bolts. The lug bolt holes are about 1/8"-3/16" larger than the lug bolts themselves, so if you bang out the inserts and the wheels fit with about 1/8" of rotational play, you are still OK. If not, then you may have 4 boat anchors to sell.
