Got a question for you folks, who knows what IRC is? Or how to use it? Reason I ask is because I set up a chatroom using IRC for FTE. It is unofficial of course but right now it is only in the older bronco section. I am kind of trying to expand it to get more visitors, if any of you want to visit some time, here is a link to the post on the bronco forums.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12...t-channel.html

If no one joins, no problem. It is still new so there has only ever been 3 different people.

You and me both. Trust me... Nice thing is though, if I happen to be at work and someone buys a winning powerball ticket, I think I get a small bonus or something

Got my brakes looked at, their rough. I adjusted them so it works a little bit but not like they are supposed to. I also tried to figure out my ratio but i am sure I failed, I posted the video i made and some brake pictures on my project thread. Any insight might be nice.

It certainly has been quiet. I guess everyone is busy prepping for winter and the superbowl. I'm all for the 49ers

well, i could care less about the super bowl. here, take a look at where my time has been going this week https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yqyzndbsor78nzl/Q2s5iApfRS - gotta love that deep corrosion on the headbolts causing me to blow a gasket and a radiator

yeah, i blew the head gasket AND the radiator on wednesday, joined AAA, got towed home, and tore it apart from there.
the radiator was weird. its one of those aluminum and plastic deals, cause thats all you can buy anymore, but its like the whole seam where the top tank connects to the core just stretched upward, leaving enough clearance that i can easily flex the bottom of the tank in and out against the core with just my finger. and the damn thing costs over $400 all by itself
check out my thread over here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-gasket-2.html if you really want to check it out a little more

Wow, makes me glad my rad is all metal... Then again I would hate to buy a new one anyways. Those can get real pricy.

for most cars they're only 1-200, thats not so bad. my original was all metal, but was heavily corroded and leaking in many places, so i decided to replace it so i would quit having to add coolant all the time. that was in the fall of 2011, and i started saving reciepts for everything just after new years of 2012, so no invoice and no records means i'm stuck with it.
and i guess thats fair, the more i think about it the more i think that it got hit with so much pressure and thats what killed it.
for a long time, i would get home and shut her down, then hear a bubbling from the coolant overflow bottle, though the radiator hose remained nicely pressurized until it cooled. i didn't think much of it then, but in hindsight i suspect that i had a slight leak around the head gasket at that time, causing the radiator to be over pressurized, and requiring the cap to vent almost constantly to keep up with it. thats all speculation now, but it gives me less room to blame the radiator itself for its failure
