Question Custom Engine Emblems

I'm trying to gauge some interest in custom emblems for the 6.2L engines. Would you buy one of these examples if they were for our trucks?

Liters:

Cubic Inches:

For the cubic inches emblem, if you convert 6.2L to C.U. you get 378.347, so which would be a better choice; 378 or 379?

Let me know,

Hi Mike,

I like the idea, just not sure where'd they go on the '11+ trucks (maybe the same place the powerstroke emblem is?).

I think a smoked/gray scale "6.2 BOSS" emblem would be pretty sweet.

FYI - Wikipedia has the size listed as 379.

I like the smoked grey (no red) idea and would buy a Boss 379 emblem.

Where would the badge go? Are you talking about on the outside of the truck (like the Raptor 6.2L badges) or in the engine compartment? Would it use Ford's "6.2L" script, or the generic font you show in your post?

I would like a 6.2L one. But I don't like the way the Raptor one looks.

I agree, finding a place to put such an emblem on the '11 & '12 SD's is a challenge. I purchased a pair of the 6.2L Raptor emblems and I did some test fits on where to place them. I tried the door like on the Raptor's, didn't look right and didn't want to copy the Raptor. I tried the edge of the hood bump, but it wasn't angled right, and I tried the from of the fender like the Triton engine size logo and it was too cramped because the Raptor emblem goes on the door so it's good size. I settled on the spot under the F-250 badge, but it is still less than optimal.

The emblems I posted were just examples. I want an emblem for myself and did some checking and there's nothing, no big surprise, right? So I thought I would gauge the interest here and get a custom emblem made up and folks here can get them at nearly cost. The couple places I checked with that I found said a typical run to be cost effective is 1000 pieces. So doing a 6.2L Boss in gray/smoke is no problem and so would a 378/379 Boss would be as well.

I'm an old curmudgeon and I like cubic inches over liters so I would make a run of both.

Here's a Shot of My Truck

Here's what the 6.2L Raptor emblem looks like where I stuck it on my truck.

Edge of the hood bump with a short Boss 379ci would be my choice. With or without the ci.

Depending on how they turn out, I'd definitely be in on at least 2. I'd probably get a few more to stick on my beer fridge, tool box, laptop for work (that should bring some interesting looks w/ clients), office, etc.

Looks good something like that, count me in.
What about 6.2L and 379Boss in one emblem (like 379Boss small under 6.2L)

Emblem

Us folks with King Ranch 6.2s have an issue placing the emblem in the 'traditional' 2011-12 spot (The KR badge goes there). The KR diesels have a decal vs the emblem. Wonder if a decal could be fashioned for us KR owners?

If not, I like under the F-x50 badge spot on the side.
