Air filters?
This is something that has been bugging me for awhile, how can an air filter filter smaller particles and have higher air flow? Seems to me that to filter smaller particles the filter would have to have a finer mesh which in turn would flow less air, Please straighten me out!!!

That would be true if the filter medium was strictly planar and all media used the same size fibers. By increasing surface area (bigger pleats) or decreasing fiber diameter, flow can increase. Also, decreasing average passage size isn't the ONLY way to catch finer particles - an oil coating will do it with larger passages.
