intermittent loss of power

2000 F150 4.6L. It starts fine and idles fine but some times seems to loss power momentarily. It does it more when accelerating but you can also feel it when just driving. I've had coil packs go out before but this doesn't feel the same no shaking or rough running it almost feels like a speed limiter shutting the motor off. No CEL and no codes. Thanks for any help.

With no driver indications other than feel, it's a good bet you have another coil issue.
A way to possibly get hold of the issue is to use a good scanner in trap mode.
When the problem ocurrs the Scanner may see it live and freeze frame all the data.
If one or more cylinders are involved it's the good bet it's a coil pack.
When positive reporting is not available you have to resort to these more advanced ways to get a lead on the causes or continue to enjoy the problem.
Good luck.

Bluegrass thanks for your input, we've had a couple others go out but they went completely bad and threw a code so we weren't sure if this was the same problem or not. We'll buy one new COP and swap it in and out one at a time until we find the bad one. It may take awhile to isolate which one is bad this way but my sons home for Christmas break and has time on his hands to mess with it.

That's one way to do it.
If someone with a good scanner can set it up for traping the offending cylinder it would greatly shorten the time spent and allow you to change that cop on the spot if you had tools handy to do it.
The loss of power is a cylinder not contributing to the normal power flow on a repeating basis.
When you set up a trap, the scanner is signaled to freeze all the data at that moment.
A look at the data would tell you what cylinder it is.
The PCM sees all that goes on but may not set CEL if the issue is not a hard fault because once it clears for any reason the immediate history is cancelled hence no CEL but the instant action is recorded by the scanner and can even be kept in a deeper table that would have to be accesse as a phase 6 quary.
Just a little on how it can be handled.
Good luck. Hope you find it quickly and Happy New Year.
