It was. I ended up not getting re-elected as chief nor any of the other line officer positions and I am actually happy about it. I just finished up 4 years being the top dog and I was able to accomplish many things to better the department. The new chief was my 2nd assistant and he has already asked me if I would help with the transition and be there if he has any questions. I agreed to do so and he asked me if I would be willing to be the department's training officer which I agreed to.
It is really going to seem strange to be back wearing a black helmet and not a white one. I think that they last time that I wore my black one was about 9 or 10 years ago and if I was not a chief of some sort, I was the safety officer and I wore a blue helmet.
yeah Im sure it will be different Neil. I know we willbe seeing a possible uniform change at some point in teh dispatch center. That will feel different. Well time for me to start packing up for the night. Have a good one Neil.
Thanks George, I am not going away by any means, just a change of the scenery I have been asked to be the training officer which I have accepted. I have done it before so it will just take some time to work the rust....lol.
