My honey got me seat belts and shoulder harness mount brackets, new mirrors, the book The Key to Metal Bumping recommended by AXracer.

My buddy gave me cash for truck parts, with which I got the faux battery cover from Specialty Batteries in Bothel, WA to conceal my Optima Redtop and make it look like an original battery.

And my son gave me a gift card which I used today for more parts from Chuck's Trucks... battery hold-down bracket, hardware and J-bolt, Speedo cable and firewall cable grommet.

I made out like a bandit this year! I did drop some pretty heavy hints though. Thankfully the family got the memo (no socks, no books, and no clothes that don't fit - all truck parts!). I ended up with: Parking light lenses, headlight rings, side hood emblems, custom cab emblems, carpet and rocker panel covers, steering wheel, and my father-in-law REALLY surprised me by having my 89 chevy bench seat re-upholstered!!!

I motivated my mom to buy from mid-fifty by telling her they always throw tootsie rolls in with the order, but I guess they forgot to send some to her...whoops. She even had my dad double-check the box to make sure she didn't miss them. HA!

If you order off the website, while in the shopping cart page enter the part # "tootsie". That actually adds the tootsie rolls to your invoice ( free ) . That's the only way I've been getting mine on the online orders lately.

If you are placing the order by phone just tell the to make sure not to forget the tootsie rolls.

Hmmm? I don't think I got anything for my truck. I only got new headlights for the Sky (in case I ever need them) and rear bearings for the Fiero (Moogs on sale for $18 each-I couldn't pass on them at that price). They'll go on the next time I pull the rear wheels. My birthday is coming up. Maybe I'll get wheels for my truck?
