Headers/Exhaust setup on '95 F150 351 Windsor
#17
I have hooker LT's that run straight down the passenger side to a dual in dual out flow master super 40. I love it. I need to add an h-pipe tho because I get some pop when I let off the gas from high rpm. But the muffler I got worked perfect cleance wise and allows me to run both pipes on the same side. I am upset at my muffler shop tho. I wasn't able to stay and watch them so they did a pretty **** job and routed the pipes from the collectors under my trans crossmember instead of offsetting up and over it. Im pretty **** when it comes to my exhaust.

Got to say again 2 1/2 "Y" into a single 3". You'll get better performance and it's lighter.
I got a Series 70 Flowmaster for a big block for, well, flow. A week later I put a 7X18" Magnaflow glasspack behind it to quiet it down.
I have not done it, but like the idea of a cut-out. If you want loud and aggressive when you open it up, you open it up!

this summer I threw out the old manifolds and put in some long tube headers on my 302. I had to have the drivers side header shortened about 3 inches because of the transfer case. After installing the headers I took the truck down to a custom exhaust shop and he ran true dual 3" pipes down the passenger side of the truck, made an h-pipe, placed two flowmaster super 44 series upright, then came straight out the back on either side of my hitch. then I insalled stainless steel tips. And I LOVE the sound it makes. I get head turns all time when I drive around. It sounds really mean when you geton it ;P

i wanted a true dual exhaust with long tube headers on my 1996 F350 4x4 with 351.
after really researching it and dealing with driveshaft, transfer case, fuel tank, and emission system concerns, i ended up with FMS stainless shorties, basani 3" stainless Y pipe, a single 3" flowmaster 70 series muffler (the biggest they make), and a 3" tailpipe that dumps just past the rear axle. truck runs great, sounds great, and performs great. the system tucks up nicely to the body giving me much more clearance than i had stock. i wouldn't change a thing. a dual setup would have been a mistake for me.

I had that same issue so I took my header to the guy who ended up doing my entire system and he shortened the drivers side header by about 3 inches I believe.

I suggested shorty's and then custom bent after that... Do you think that would work, just from seeing what you have?? The guys that have mine have had it for 3 days and seem to be clueless, any suggestions would be great

I'm almost positive shortys won't work because the starter would be In the way on the passenger side. But that'd be something you'd actually hafta hold up there to see probably.
