Ok guys..now that the engine is about in..my focuses are going elsewhere on my 68. Some replacement parts and paint..some fine tuning if you will. I can't wait to get to the interior. I've thought about getting the classic buckets that were offered in these trucks. I don't mind it being a two seated cuz i have a manual anyways. Just a couple qs tho
Where could I order/find some seats
What all do u have to get for the brackets?

Depends on what seats ya want so we need more info....Original style, vintage with a headrest, or newer?
Original style.. look to the 65-68 Mustangs, Fairlanes, Comets, & Falcons.
Vintage w/ headrests or high-backs: Late 68-69 Mustangs, Comets, Falcons, Rancheros, and for the high-backs, 70-73 Mustangs, Torinos.
Newer but old-style... I like Scat ProCar Elites. I dunno about brackets.
Brackets for the early seats.. Oy. Finding original brackets is nearly impossible but if you can fabricate all the better because there's a PDF shop drawing running around on the web.
I like the original style the best..I've heard the 66 mustang seats were the ones that were installed in Rangers..or was at least an option on the 72 rangers. There's a fella at fordification that said he had got the plans and had made some..but I don't expect to pay cheaply for them. I know eBay has some brackets..but I know that the brackets are l/r and inner /outter specific..and I can never find a whole set.

And that's why I invested in a welder and plasma cutter and both have paid for themselves in spades. I've seen the PDFs will likely fab my own unless I happen on some at the JY... rare though. 'been wonder if the late models 80-96 will work cuz the JY has plenty of them with buckets. They're definitely not the same as the bumpside style but it does pose possibilities.
I'm looking for the 68-69s with a headrest or 70-73 high-backs. I was at a swap meet late this summer and spied a vendor with a 69... the dork didn't bring its mate. Who buys just one seat?
Unfortunately..I don't have the funds for that fancy equipment. I could learn to use em no problem..but its all about the money these days.
I like the look of the hi backs..I just REALLY like the mustang seats. It's amazing..cuz anything with the words "classic" or "mustang" automatically jumps the price up..again..I'd be better off goin to a jy to get em. It's just a nice..custom touch to the interior.
As for the idiot..you'd be surprised what you may or may not find. I got to a local swap meet down here in Missouri once a summer..and guys sell one of this or one of that..ridiculous. and they think since they slapped a coat of paint on it then it automatically turns it into gold.

2x... the high-backs are nice and of course many upholstery options. The repro market is super cuz ya can basically build an entire new 65-70 Mustang since Dynacorn came out with reproduction body shells.
'totally on board with swap meets. I ran into a guy with a 78 Bronco grill and then saw a push bar. $20 later and it was mine. My latest awesome find was an Autometer Sport Comp tachometer.. retail is $130 and I got it for $20. I got a SunTach II for a mere $5... my pal thinks I am nuts sometimes cuz I study parts catalogs. Hey! I wanna know what is available and the street price cuz I sure as heck don't wanna overpay.
My biggest struggle is actually finding a set of seats from a 65-68 mustang..there's even a guy selling the brackets on here for 130$ a set.
Nice finds I like to study the parts catalogs too..then go on eBay or Craigslist cuz usually..people don't realize what they have..and sell it for cheap. I'm hoping I get lucky enough on some seats and don't have to pay 300-500 smackers for em
Well, I dont have older style buckets, but instead I used buckets out of a 97 or 98 f150.
For mounting I just used 1" square tubing. It allowed the use of the original mounting holes.
I found a set of local 1971 machine 1 hi back seats..still trying to get a price. How do the hi backs look in these bumps? I prefer the original lower back style..but I haven't ever seen a truck with the hibacks in it
I probably won't get those seats. Not really the style I'm after..as I would like to get the 65-68 seats. Hio..these are the Hibacks from a 71 mach one..she's asking 300 for the pair
If you go to the Springfield, Mo craigslist..theres a listing with along the lines of 69-73 mustang parts for sale. Contact the vendor. She doesn't have them listed in the plethora of stuff, but I emailed her and she said she had a set shed sell for the price

Reason: Addingin details
Seven months ago I was at a wrecking yard, I spotted a 68 Ranger which had these in it just as you see in the picture.

I had to have them, now they sit in my 64.

And the best part, I got both seats, brackets plus the hard to find carpet trim that goes above the fuel tank for a whopping $38.00
That's right $38.00 bucks got all that.
It happened to be 50% off on interior parts that day. When the girl told be how much I owed, I couldn't pay fast enough. I just wanted to get these in my car and be gone thinking there was a mistake. There was NO mistake, they belong to me now. It was a great day.
Thanks. It's not high on my priority list right now since I am stuck doing a couple of house remodels. I get to refinish a 1,100 sq.ft. of wood floors over the Xmas break. Yay,

That's awesome... I'm hoping the Ford gods to smile on me like they did for you that day.
