Im looking into doing the swap from 6.0 to Cummins. Just saving my $$$ cause its going to be expensive. FORDCUMMINS.com has a kit for around $3800, that is everything but the motor... Some will do the swap turn key for around $15,000. Im thinking of doing it myself someday...
Go to your local newsstand or wherever you buy your magazines. There is a magazine titled Diesel Swaps from the publishers of Diesel Power. Lots of good info in there along with 3 Superdutys with Cummins swaps.
Seems like a lot of money for not much gain... i can bulletproof a 6.0 for ~$2500 and have it be an excellent running truck... but if you have the cash then go for it

If someone already had a 6.0 I might be inclined to agree w/ you. But for someone w/ a tired gas engine, it's expensive either way. Possibly cheaper w/ a cummins. Besides, it's hard to kill an old 12v cummins...and they can be easily turned up for the power.

I agree, I don't see much to gain on the swap. Way too much cost and work involved. The 6.0 can be fixed permanently(with reason) by bullet proofing.
