73 F350 SCS 70K miles- Ebay-Sweet!

Check it out on Ebay. Pretty darn nice, clean looking F350 Super Camper Special with low miles, original paperwork, 390 w/4 speed and the big rear "super single tires". I would love to have a 390 w/4 speed. I'm a little partial to the Super Camper Specials.

I think they were all 460 powered. Strange it has a map pocket on one door but not the other, not even any holes to mount one.

They actually were offered with 360 as standard and optional 390 or 460.

There's a 1977 F350SCS on EBay, too...460 with a C6...

Looks like a decent old truck...

Seller posted the VIN: F35HRR52129 / F35 = F350 Pickup / H = 390 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / R52129 = 1973.

AFAIK: No 360's were available in these trucks / 390 2V standard equipment 1973/76 / 390 4V optional 1974/76 (VIN engine code M).

460 4V optional 1973/76, standard equipment 1977/79 (VIN engine code J) / 390 available w/C6 or 4 M/T / 460 only available with a C6.

Steering wheel is correct, but has the wrong horn pad. Ranger XLT horn pad is wood grained.

Not a genuine Ford step bumper, it's aftermarket. And...Ford did not offer a slide out step bumper.

The same genuine Ford painted argent & chrome step bumpers installed on 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase were also installed on 1973/77 F250 4WD's (High Boys).

That's interesting about the 360 not being available in the 73 F350. The 1973 truck brochures and Ford RV brochures indicate that in 1973, the F350 SCS came standard with the 360 and only the 390 was optional? The 74 brochures indicate that the 460 was available beginning in 74. Here is a link to one of the Ford RV brochures but you can see the other literature as well. Perhaps Ford made a change? I wonder why did he listed it as an F250? These were all F350's (yes?)
--------------------

Here's a pic of a nice blue one just north of Boise:
460 4V. Automatic. A/C. Tilt column. Cruise. Delay wipers. Inside hood release.
Disc brake front.
New alternator, fuel pump, voltage regulator, brake master.
Will need a new brake booster.
Nice custom ordered topper to match.

He was asking $3000

I did see this a while back and also noticed he had it posted as a F250 but it's definitely a F350. I think some folks just don't know or are not detail oriented.

Wow beauty! Don't see many standard camper specials. Most the ones I find are autos.

4 Speed SCS

Yeah the 4 speeds are hard to find. I have a 73 SCS F350, 390 with a 4 speed. Took a long time to find. Not as nice as the one on Ebay Fun to drive. Rarely use the 1st gear. It redlines at about 10 MPH in first gear! I think it has 4.11 gears. It would be nice to have a tach.

Did the one on Ebay sell? Anyone know what he got?

Wink

I also believe the steering wheel is a '78 up wheel from a Custom trim level truck.

1971/77 horn pads (except 1975/77's with Speed Control) curve downward at the ends, while 1978/79's are basically straight across.

No such thing as a 1978/79 Custom steering wheel. Two types were offered, their diameters are 1/2" different, as one is for manual steering, one is for power steering.

What is different are the horn pads. Custom/Ranger are black camera case finish, while Ranger XLT and Lariat are wood grained.

Same 1978/79 F100/350 steering wheels/horn pads, T/S switches used on Bronco's & Econolines.
