65 ford custom cab chrome headliner trim?
Hi Everyone; My 65 camper special custom cab is missing the headliner. I have seen the aftermarket ones at carpenter and cg parts and they look the same. It appears that mine may have been perforated as I see dots by the top of the winshield side posts. I do not see where there is any holes drilled for chrome top rail mouldings. It looks like the screws in the corners may have been exposed with a chrome washer and just clips around the rest of it. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a chrome strip around the top? Thanks, Tom

The headliner (two were avail. as far as I know-one perforated and one not) from Dennis Carpenter is very good,
it will need a tiny bit of trimming or the rear panel, but that's it...it is an easy install...what gets you though is
the shipping price. Mine, pictured, is the perforated one.
You will need to pop the rear window out to do it properly, so I suggest getting a new rear window seal while you're
at it...there are a few tricks, contact me when you are going to do it.
As far as the side trim moldings go, here is another set of images showing the interior...there are only two which go
above the doors...the front lip is held in place by clips that come with the DC kit...one of the trickiest parts is lining up
the cross member screw hole for the center large panel overhead...I rested a 2x4 through the open rear window and
on the dash with a laser pointer fixed into a hole drilled in the 2x4 which pointed to the screw hole...voila...easy.
PM me if you need some of the trim, I have some...it's aluminum.
Best,
Jason

Thank you Jason for the reply and the pictures. You have a nice interior. There is a listing on Ebay for a chrome surround that the seller was told came off a 65 ford and he thinks will fit 65 to 73. Obviously he was wrong but for a newer truck they look good with $35 start/no reserve if someone needs these.
I am missing the chrome trim that your picture shows (passenger side door) for my drivers door and also the plastic surround trim for the drivers side map pocket. I could not locate any reproductions so probably my best bet is keep watching Ebay and hope one shows up, unless someone here knows of a store that has these.

Here is the link to their Ford Truck catalog. It is not real appearent how to find it on ther site. http://www.dennis-carpenter.com/pdf/57-66Truck.pdf. I ordered a hard copy also.
They offer many reproductions parts using the orgianl Ford dies and all of their parts are of the best quality. Shipping cost are also lowest of any on-line sources. Shipping was $15 on the $1000 parts I ordered which included a tailgate.

Hey 70Broc,
The trim around the upper door above the windows is aluminum and is out there...these parts I have...the plastic panels on the
door you are referring to are re-popped by Dennis Carpenter, but!...they are held in place by aluminum trim pieces (3 parts per door)
that are not reproduced yet, and they were part of the Custom Cab option. I opted to do my own, which are aluminum panels covered
in tan vinyl.
These are available on ebay from time to time, and can go for up to $125 depending on how bad folks want them...gangstakr
(posted earlier) likely has a set.

Door Trim
Actually Jason I still have the aluminum door surrounds screwed in place without the headliner. The side trim on the drivers door is missing at the bottom because somone removed it to work on the window which is also out and in the cab. They must have lost the bottom piece and the curved piece that connects the bottom to the top. There is a set on Ebay now for starting bid of 58 bucks or so but is only the top and bottom pieces for both doors without the curved parts. I will keep my eye on Ebay for the curved piece and the bottom or a complete set if it comes up. Also I am missing the outside curved stainless that attaches to the cab corner. One of these also will probably be hard to find.

Headliner 65 custom cab
Thanks Cs65; I am very interested in your extra parts but do not know the proper proceedure here for contacting other members.
My truck does still have the clips along the front and the two screws you are referring to but there is a row of screws around the back window 1/2 way under the rear window rubber.
