Fuel filler neck replacement - sddesigns
Hi,
I saw that sddesigns completed this but I needed a separate thread to find out how to do this. It was in the thread, "what have you done to the X today".
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...today-754.html
My fuel filler neck is very rusty and needs replaced.
Could someone give me a how-to on this repair?
Hopefully it is not too hard, meaning not dropping the gas tank.
thanks

I did it without dropping the tank. It is a pain but do-able. You will need to reach over the frame to get to the tank. My clamps were rusted off so I didn't have to unscrew them. I cut the hoses off length wise instead of trying to pull on them. I undid the three screws at the gas cap area and that was the extent of the removal.
The replacement was basically the reverse except you don't cut the hose, make sure the clamps face you in a way that it makes it easy to screw them tight.
