1966 F-250 Lift kit?

Does any one out there know of a lift kit for a 1966 F-250 2 wheel drive. I just want to lift it a few inches. Could I just get longer coils in the front and blocks under the rear axel. What do you think the approximate cost would be? Thanks! Bill

I don't think anyone makes a kit for the older 2wds. Blocks would work in the back since that is what the factory used on the 4wd. You could have the fronts custom made by a spring shop.

My understanding is, that you could get the I-Beams bent and get longer springs.

To use a longer coil spring, you'll have to drop the pivot point on the I-beam and the radius arm bracket. If you don't the suspension geometry will be off, it'll eat tires, and handle like s%&!. Maybe you can cut the old brackets off, build some spacers, and weld it back together. Let us know, I would like to do it also.

The spindle link doesn't seem to work. For the I beams click on the lifted link. When the next page comes up click on the picture of the I beam.

1966 F-250 Lift kit?

Hi,
I've been trying to find a lift kit for my 1966 F-250 2wd for a while now. I want to raise the back 3 or so inches, and want the front equal height, no more rake. I too thought about blocks for the back, and longer coils for the front. The spring shops I talked to said they wouldn't make them any longer than 2" or 3" inches from stock. Can't find an off the shelf lift anywhere. Thought about cutting the brackets off a 4X4 and mounting them on mine. Anyone have thoughts on that? I followed the I beam link and e-mailed them. They said they don't make I beams for my truck. Is that because I't a F-250? Would they work, anybody know? Anybody have any more suggestions? I want to get my ducks in a row, getting ready to rebuild drivedrain, convert to ps, pdb, and rebuild brake system. Thanks.
T.J.

I don't know how well this would work, but a buddy of mine claims to have lifted his 69 1/2 ton by removing the I-beams and re-installing them upside down.

hppydrunk,

did you ever succeed in lifting your 66 F250 2WD? i have exact same thing and i also want to get rid of the rake angle that my truck has. i want a nice level stance a bit higher up. what did you end up doing?

can you send pics or other info on what you bought or used to get this done?

many thanks!!

lifted 2wd

Autofab in California does just this. takes care of the camber issue and all. bolt on. I am doing mine. I have a 66 f250 2wd. probably going with the 3" lift for all the same reasons you all are looking into it.
