I have a 2008 F450 I bought. I live in the Denver CO area and we have to emmision our trucks and all the exhaust has to be there. Does anyone make a replacement canister that is gutted?

I am sure there is. I would try to contact the previous owner and see if they possiblely have the part. That is gonna be a extremely pricey part?

no one has done that just yet. After all you still need a programmer to shut off the regen cycle.

Also is colorado doing a sniffer test or plugging into the obd port? There readings will fail you as well if you are not careful.

I think that there is a back pressure signal that is needed by
the PCM and if it not where it should read it will pop up a CEL on you.
That would not be good when going in to be tested.

That is one reason for the programmer.

Believe CEL isn't a valid cause for failure in CO anymore.. What color is your F450?

There are videos of people cleaning there DPFs on Youtube, some EPA approved, some using a more permanent method. The permanent method I believe your more interested in they take a large masonary drill bit and hog out the center of the DPF.

Hi
They run it on a dyno and sniff the exhaust. I had planned on getting a programer too. As many people that are removing them I would think they would be available in somebodys garage. Has anybody had expierance with the water injection with these?
Thank you for the replys.

My guess is your probably going to fail. Even with a stock tune my buddies 6.4 with no DPF smokes.

Your gonna have to get a DPF delete pipe and then switch it back and retune to stock programming in order to pass the inspection
or
Get a dpf friendly, carb approved tuner.

Hi
My F450 Is a White king ranch 4x4 crew cab dually with a long bed and 4.30 gears. It has 32" tall tires. I got 12.3mpg running at 70 mph on a 2000 mile round trip from Denver to northeast Mo. I want some more power and mpg. Dieselpower mag in the December issue had an article where they left all emissions on. They used a Bullydog intake, bullydog GT programer and AEM water injection. They liked the results. They got more power and less smoke with the programer and the water injection. I may have to go that way, if they have more information about it. I reprogramed My2000 F350 every time i had it emissioned so that would not be a problem. Thank you for all the information
