alternator/battery questions
hey guys i normally live in the 97-03 f150 pages but come this way to pick your brains a little, my brother has a 2000 explorer 4.0 vin X .. he is looking to replace his main wire that runs off the alternator post to battery as his got a couple "splices" in it from previous owner. i mentioned it may have a inline fuse and he does not see one, i was wondering is there a inline fuse in it, what is its rating if so, and does anyone have a good pic of its location if so and also how it is exactly routed, thanks in advance

there is no inline fuse. it runs from the alt below the intake, to the back side of ac where it picks up loom, then goes down into a main harness then comes up to the battery. it may be easier just to get a new piece of loom and run it solo, just make sure nothing can attack the line or melt it
the only inline fuse I know of (less boxes) is on the brake/cruise line which was a recall for fire hazard
