Seat belt latch broken

I have a broken driver's seat belt latch on my 91 explorer.

I have looked in the scrap yards and the latch assemblies I am seeing in the yards are a plastic (usually broken) sheath with a web belt inside.

My latch is made by TRW and is a cable type with a heat shrink type plastic tube that also covers the wires to some switch inside the latch.

I thought that maybe someone had changed out the latch, but all the latches in the vehicle match.

Was there some production change? Where can I find the latch assy that I need?

Anybody have any ideas? Has anyone seen the cable style seat belt latch?

Seat belt latch broken

I persnally would never buy a seatbelt part from a salvage yard. You just don't know what condition the used parts are in, they could look good on the outside, but internally they could be faulty. A seatbelt is one part I really don't want to fail!

I have a 96, and I just changed the buckle end about a week ago. Have to tried asking your dealership?
