SES light, runs hard, shakes, help.
I drive a 2002 F-350 PSD 7.3 SC LB 4x4. Except for my 4 inch exhaust, everything is stock. The other night, while driving, I noticed my truck had a much deeper tone to it all the sudden. About the time I noticed this, the SES light popped on. I haven't noticed a loss in power but the truck is shaking quite a bit more than usual. Oil was just changed, running Rotella T 15w40.
I've also noticed a coupled other things that may or may not be related. Batteries test at 12.8 and hit about 14.15 while running. They test as high as 14.3 while pressing the throttle. Sometimes when I'm at about 3000 rpms my battery light will flicker on and off. My lights, interior and headlights, will pulsate dim, bright, dim, bright at about 1800 rpms. This is very annoying while driving. Not sure if it pulsates enough for other drivers to notice but people in the truck notice while driving at night. Last thing is just recently my power steering seems to not be working at all. Fluid is fine. I use Mercon V ATF fluid but I find it very difficult to turn the wheel unless I am moving a little.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I know this community is full of a lot of great and knowledgeable people. Also, if anyone has a scan tool for 7.3's around the Knoxville TN area, please let me know. Thanks!
